Durban, South Africa •• Dec. 9, 2000 •• SolarQuest® iNet News Service •• I am a reporter for GENERATION YDN which is a popular youth page on Durban's biggest daily paper, THE DAILY NEWS. The other group members, Seema, James and Bianca are all GENERATION YDN Reporters as well and we met Ron through Janis Fraser, the editor for YDN. Generation YDN is a youth page that is written by the youth for the youth, we have young people from all over the country writing about youth issues. We are really excited to have Ron here in Durban exposing us to this Energy Conference. I hope he is enjoying Durban even though our 'sunny country' reputation has been spoiled by the rain. Most of our young writers are hoping to become journalists in the near future.Personally, I want to be exposed to a lot of other things and journalism, of course, and I believe I have taken the first step with my participation in the conference, thanks to Ron Swenson!

Janis Fraser, as has been said before, has been the link to our meeting Ron. She received a very friendly phone call from him, requesting the use of student reporters to report on the Africa Minister's Energy Conference, which he is very much a part of. Of course, when she then told us about it, we were so excited, and well, here we are!
