The two-day session on women in energy at the US/Africa Ministers Conference held in Durban International Convention Centre (ICC) highlighted the urgent need to involve women in decision making process within the energy sector.Though there are women ministers in the African departments of Mineral and Energy, men still paractice their domination in every sphere including taking decisions for women. The conference also made it clear that though in the majority of African countries women struggle for liberation had in the past earned them recognition in some quotas, but they are still stumbling along the path in the journey to earn they respect they deserve, since women are the backbone of their nations.
