Hey guys, I would love more than anything to be the one to follow up on this contact. Nonetheless, I will share it first as I thought that we all might want to talk about it together.

In a scheme called Global Solar Partners, 50 Scottish secondary schools will each join with a partner school world-wide to work together on solar-related projects during 1999. We are inviting teachers around the world to nominate teams aged between 11 and 18 from the science, design technology, art, geography and business studies curriculum areas to register for the project.

During the project, teams will receive support from BP Amoco. This may include research materials, solar investigation kit, access to communication facilities if available or support from a solar "mentor" or BP Solar engineer.

The finished partner projects will be displayed as part of a Solar Youth Exposition at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre in Glasgow on May 1st and 2nd, 2000. This event will run in parallel with the 16th European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition. Selected partnership teams (and their teachers) who have produced the most interesting projects will be invited to Glasgow for the event, with support from BP Amoco. The teams will present their work at the exposition and take part in the Solar Youth Summit and Solar Energy Conference. Material from selected projects will also be displayed on the BP Solar and Science Across the World Web sites.

To find out how you can join in and become a Global Solar Partner, please see the Science Across the World web site at http://www.bp.com/saw/english/core.html or contact us at the address below:
