I received this E-mail from Karina Ricks of EPA. Perhaps we can
invite this professor to attend the NTM and have him meet with the
youth before the Roundtable. Any thoughts?

---------------------

David,

I don't know if you will find this helpful or not, but there is a
professor at
the University of Michigan that has done a lot of work on youth-led
initiatives
for community development. I'm wondering if there is any role for
him with the
National Youth Roundtable or if it would be interesting to invite him
to attend.

He is Professor Barry Checkoway (Social Work/Urban and Regional
Planning). His
current research includes Community-based Youth Initiatives,
Community-Service
Learning, Youth Participation & Neighborhood Development, and Civic
Engagement
of Young People among other projects.

If you wish to contact him, he can be reached at barrych@umich.edu or
734
647-7402.

I hope things are coming together well, please let me know if I can
help in any
way.
