Durban, South Africa •• Dec. 9, 2000 •• SolarQuest® iNet News Service •• My name is James Carroll and I am post-matric student in South Africa. In case you don't know, post-matric is the South African equivelent of an extra year of study between high school and university or college. Some people believe that this is pure machocism! During my post-matric year I have been completing my English 'A' Levels and studying for my SATs.

Next year I hope to travel overseas to England to go to The London International Film School. For the moment I have joined up with the National Television & Video Association and am producing a short film for next year.

Besides work in film and video, I report for a newspaper supplement that is aimed at the teen market. Another iNet News Reporter, Prudence, also writes for Generation YDN. The gaining of experience and meeting all sorts of different people through the paper is great. Over the next week, I'll be reporting back on events that take place during the the US-Africa Energy Ministrial.
