The US/Africa Energy Ministers Conference relates to my area of interest because of the environmental concerns and policy implications that relate to climate change and sustainable growth and development. With a major focus being put on economic growth and development, African nations must ensure that the environment can promote such a change without suffering from the effects of this type of development, such as deforestation and new industry.

I have no special desire to cover any one part of Africa because I have not had any studies or experiences with any one area or country in Africa. Instead I would like to explore and learn about a number of countries in Africa as it relates to its energy and environmental concerns.
