Report: APRIL 5, 1999: Edit Continued Goal 1 (RE: J. Pittman's Review)

Greetings, One Report includes ALL Tasks for this Quest. This is the second Report concerning Revision. Previous Report follows this one. I think we need to work with Elena on getting the beginning of these Quest/Task pages suitable for young people to work with. I think they need to be more colorful. Jim mentioned the logos and their over consumption of space. This compliments my point here. "TRI" (EPA) is now in the Learning Links Task. Jim I acknowledge your concern with the trademark on the Learning Links logo. We don't want people to think the educational aspects of our work strictly equal $. However, the logo isn't too abrasive for now. If Enviro Links leave the Links Task, where should they go? Go ahead and move them. I strongly agree that we begin adding increased direction, instruction, and textual/image content to these Tasks. It can be standardized throughout the School, but right now some Tasks are presented like a bump on a log. Case Studies for all the Tasks could use some extra. I think they're ok unless they have absolutely no relevance to the goal whatsoever. Jim, does PC have a database that we can dip into easily to access case studies, publications, etc.? Jim, I think "EcoSystem Health" should be in every Quest. I think it's all right for now. I suggest that any Quest including WWW curriculum or challenge be looked at closely as follow-up to this general edit after we look at the other links, instruction, and physical format of the school. Any "curriculum/challenge" needs flushing out with proper reference to its purpose, potential, attributes, etc. Presently, they are all skeletal presentations of "curriculum". Jim wrote: "H & E Interactive Activities - The '1-Week Curriculum' does not directly relate to the NTM Goal as it is worded. The rest seem pretty solid. The last one, though, should have more text or could link directly to this site a few links downstream." Can this link go where the "other website" is broken? However, now is not the time. For example: The PCSD Affiliated Events database lists only a couple of "International" events. With that in mind, those events without a web-site should still go in the Tasks. When a structured editing process is used in Ecosage, that will be the time to address content. I have placed the NTM & PCSD logo in their places you requested (see Goal 10). They look good. Again, when ten Goals are considered ready to publish like #1, 2, 5, 6 we can move to the top of your list presented in the Ecosage schoolhouse. 3-8-99: I am now developing G.009 JZ

The size of this logo seems smalll that the one Alan used. We did this come from, or did you just sze it. Please talk with Alan about this. I prefer the size you have used. I love the photos in the education section. I have not yet reviewed all of Goal 10.

As a general response to this school:

It is good to see that it is available. A structured editing process is getting closer. However, now is not the time.
